About

Hello y'all! I'm Emma; it's a pleasure to meet you. My areas of specialty include eating disorders and disordered eating, mental health disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and a variety of other nutrition-related concerns. I take a patient-centered approach to nutrition care, and one of the most important things to me is that you feel heard. I want you to feel comfortable bringing your whole self to our sessions and know that your experiences, concerns, and goals are being listened to and valued. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to work alongside you to find the best individualized path forward.

I use evidence-based practices within a Health at Every Size® (HAES)-aligned, anti-diet framework. I also incorporate principles of Intuitive Eating to help you step away from diet culture and reconnect with food freedom. I believe nutrition care should support your physical and mental well-being—not leave you feeling restricted, judged, or consumed by thoughts about food and your body. My goal is to help you develop a positive and trusting relationship with food and movement, where you can experience joy without guilt or fear. Your body and your weight are only a small part of who you are—and, honestly, the least interesting thing about you. Ultimately, I want to help you feel empowered to care for yourself, find freedom from food and body guilt, and live your life as your whole, authentic self.

What it's like working with me

Your session with me: Our sessions are conversations. Rather than simply giving you a list of things you “should” or “shouldn’t” do, we’ll collaborate on your care and work together to find an approach that fits your life. I’ll listen, ask questions, offer education and evidence-based recommendations, and help you identify realistic steps that feel meaningful to you. I’ll also provide support and gentle pushing when it may help you move toward your goals. I believe nutrition care can be both compassionate and challenging—we can create a space where you feel supported while also being encouraged to explore patterns, beliefs, or behaviors that may be keeping you stuck.

My energy: I strive to create a space that feels warm, compassionate, and genuinely human. I’ll be engaged and curious about your experiences, and I believe there should be room for humor and laughter, too. Nutrition and our relationships with food can involve some difficult and vulnerable conversations, and I want you to feel safe being honest and showing up as your authentic self.

Outside of the office: You may find me trying a new baking recipe I’m excited to make, cooking, curled up with a good book, spending time in nature, or cuddling with my two cats, Castiel and Malfoy. I also love spending quality time with my spouse and enjoying the little moments together.

Fun/meaningful fact: My first degree was in Food Science, which gave me an even deeper appreciation for food (and definitely fueled my love of baking!). Outside of nutrition, I also played the violin for nearly nine years.
