About

Food can most definitely be fun, but for some it can also be scary, overwhelming, infuriating, comforting, energizing and enjoyable, all at the same time. I am here to help support you in your journey to finding freedom with food and making peace with your body. You are in the driver's seat, but I am here to help steer you along the way in accomplishing your goals. I want to help you learn to embrace the signals that your body sends you, rather than to fear them. And I want to help provide gentle nutrition reminders so that you can fuel your body for all the things you want to accomplish!

I have more than a decade of experience counseling people in a wide variety of settings, including eating disorders and disordered eating, pregnancy and postpartum nutrition and the unique nutritional issues of military members and veterans. I am here to support you in your journey and work through a plan to help you accomplish your goals. I focus on helping people to embrace intuitive eating, learn to trust their body and find freedom with food. I practice with a weight-inclusive approach and know that weight and health are not synonymous. I will meet you where you are so that together we can walk the often complicated and winding road that will lead toward eating being a more enjoyable and satisfying experience.

What it's like working with me

Your session with me: I want to focus on getting to know you and the challenges you face, without judging or pushing. Then, we can work together to form a plan and set goals that will help you to accomplish what you are setting out to do. I provide evidence-based information in a supportive environment that will hopefully help you to feel comfortable opening up about your struggles.

My energy: Open and inviting; I want to get to know you, so that I can best understand how to help you. I love to laugh and try to find humor in the hard things.

Outside of the office: I’m a crafty girl at heart and love granny-type hobbies (think embroidery and crocheting, among others). I am a dog mom to two older babies, married to an active-duty service member and am an avid doll collector.

Fun/meaningful fact: I fully embrace my identity as a Disney adult. I did the Disney college program after graduating from graduate school and worked in attractions. I make it my goal to go to Disney World as often as I can!
