Supporting people on their journey of changing their relationship with food and their body is my favorite part of nutrition counseling. I believe that you are the expert of your body, so I enjoy working together in a collaborative partnership to create goals and plans of care that are in alignment with your values and lifestyle.
Nutrition can feel confusing. Many of us are taught messages about food, weight, health, and our bodies as far back as we can remember, and all of these “rules” can feel overwhelming. I'll help you sort through the noise to find ways to nourish your body in a way that makes sense for you and your goals.
Health and nourishment looks different for everyone, so nutrition care should be individualized. My hope is that our work empowers you to feel confident in your food choices, helps you feel more attuned to your body's needs, and provides you with practical strategies that are supportive, realistic, and flexible.
As someone who lives in a larger body and has recovered from a long history of disordered eating, I understand that health and nutrition status cannot be judged based on appearance, weight, or BMI, and that sometimes our healthiest weight is not what we've been led to believe it is. Therefore, my nutrition philosophy is weight neutral and fat positive. I practice from a weight inclusive perspective that centers around lived experiences, and am fully aligned with HAES. I'd love to help you break up with the rigidity of dieting, to find freedom and flexibility with eating, and to reclaim headspace back from intrusive thoughts about food and body.
Whether you are wanting to explore stepping away from dieting, wanting more joy in your relationship with food and body, and/or you need help managing a medical diagnosis, I would be honored to support you. I strive for you to be able to trust yourself to keep fun foods in your house, while teaching you new ways to help keep your energy stable and fuel your awesome life!
