Isn't it amazing how food and eating, things that are integral and necessary for life, can be twisted into a complicated formula that changes with each new study headline or fad diet? I want to help bring simplicity and ease back to making food choices, and help you rediscover the things you already know (but maybe just forgot!) about feeding yourself.
I approach nutritional counseling with kindness and compassion as well as a desire for social justice and equity. I work within a Health at Every Size mindset and strive to provide fair and unbiased treatment to each and every one of my clients no matter their size, ethnicity, gender expression, or background. I believe YOU are the expert on you, and my job is to help guide you to understand and respect your body in a way that promotes the goals you have for yourself.
I know many folks come to me wanting weight loss. In a society that idolizes thinness and able-bodiedness, I get it! Although there are no evidence-based strategies shown to result in long-term weight loss without regain, I am open to having conversations around what behaviors we CAN work on and what underlying things you're hoping to accomplish with a weight loss goal. I like to utilize Intuitive Eating and Eating Competence to help those with a history of dieting and disordered eating.
My training in integrative and functional nutrition is essential for my work with “complicated cases”. I work with anyone 18 years old and up, and I am comfortable with a variety of both chronic and more acute concerns.
In my spare time, I like to run, bullet journal, watch supernatural TV shows, and spend time outside gardening, walking my dog, and being on or near water.
